I'm really bad at deciding what to sell and what to keep, so feel free to browse my inactive OCs folder and express interest in anything you might want! There are several designs I'm too attached to but I'm open to offers on most of them right now. /Edit: Will start listing the 100% unavailable ones at the bottom of this journal so make sure to check first!

Please read the rules below before commenting:

• Preferred payment method is Paypal, but I will also accept dA points if necessary. 1€/$1 = 100 points.

• You can either toss me an offer on a design you like or ask if I have a price in mind. Pricing varies depending on how attached I am to them (this mainly goes for my own designs), and how much I paid for them + additional art (this goes for anything not designed by me).

• Asking for a quote doesn't mean the design is automatically on hold for you. Once I have given you a quote, I usually wait around 24 hours for your reply, but if I don't hear back from you, I will let the design go to the next person who shows interest.

• Most of these designs came from the group PKMNation, some of them I made myself and some were made by others who were also in the group at the time. I have since removed them from the group, so if you wish to bring them back, you will have to breed for a similar combination using the group's mechanics. If you simply wish to use them as OCs wherever else, you're free to do so! :>

I never make journals like this, nor am I good with formalities, but I guess that's fine. Just felt like rambling a bit, about something that happened recently and made me and four of my PKMNation mod friends leave the team.

Initially I was hoping I could keep this journal as neutral as possible, since I'm not really looking to be dramatic here, but being neutral is impossible when you're on one side of an argument, so I decided to drop that and not worry about it too much. This is all just my opinions and feelings, please read with that in mind. I don't wish to spread hate or anything. I do encourage civil discussion though, but depending on the amount of comments I may become too exhausted to reply to all of them. I promise I will try though, and I appreciate everyone's comments and input!

After our August 12th News Update (you have to scroll down a little bit to find it because the newest article is from August 13th, but please do read it to fully understand the group's stance on the matter), three PKMNation moderators, including me, took issue in a new rule that was established after a member with vast knowledge on the subject brought to our attention the issues lying in the Eight Banner Honedge design; one of the "Rarity" Pokemon, a design official in the group (and exclusive to the group) and present on the group's website. Rarities are something that represent the group and the mod team, created exclusively by the mods these days. The red sun present in the banners bears a striking resemblance to Japan's Rising Sun Flag, which is a source of a lot of controversy due to its usage during WWII, and even to this day its variations are used by both the Japanese military as well as fascist groups, which... doesn't sound too hot, does it? I've seen fascist groups use it alongside the swastika, which is a more well-known symbol in the west, used by neo-nazis.

I don't feel good about allowing symbols such as these in a family friendly group (okay, personally I'd rather not see them anywhere but that's beside the point), even if the designer means no harm. If you ask me, intent does not excuse the usage of symbols that are predominantly seen as hate symbols, but unfortunately that is exactly what Nation's new rule allows. For example, if you can justify/explain your use of a swastika with a non-malicious intent, you can use one in a Pokemon's design. It doesn't sit well with me, nor did it sit well with two (would become four only a little later) of my mod peers either. I'm super grateful for their support, and I will be linking their journals at the end of this journal entry once they get to make theirs, so you can go read their takes on the matter as well. It's an issue we all feel very strongly about.

Of course we didn't leave the team without any discussion. I'm not looking to delve too deep into it, and this is just my observations, obviously; I also apologize for talking about things discussed in the private mod chat, but as you can imagine it's impossible to talk about this without sharing some details on how things progressed.

After the member I mentioned earlier brought up their concern and the new rule was established, three of us Officer-rank mods decided to keep the discussion going, as we weren't happy with the outcome. The first time around, before the rules update, not every mod was around to discuss it as it was late for us European folks (I was around though), but the post was made anyway, signed by "the mod team". I did not react to the post immediately as I needed time to gather my thoughts, and only brought it up a day or two later (or maybe a few days, I'm not 100% sure anymore). I noticed there were two other mods who felt similarly about the issue at the time, so we banded together to appeal to the champs again at a later date.

It took us a while to get everything ready, we wanted to be taken seriously because we felt it was an important moral issue to address. (Edit: Animal shared the doc of the letter we prepared in her journal, so I'm adding it here as well!) The discussion didn't end the way we were hoping it would, but we were encouraged to think of an alternative rule to the current one if we so wished. We took that chance, and took another week to work on our rule idea as well as some other points we wished to present. Two other Officers joined our little team during that time, and to me at least it gave a lot of hope. It makes sense that not everyone in such a US-based group is going to know about symbols that are seen as hateful in the east, but knowing that people were interested in learning about that stuff was pretty cool. I don't claim to be an expert on the subject either, considering I'm just a lazy little Finn, so while I was aware of some of the controversy surrounding the rising sun flag, I learned a lot of new things as well! Not pleasant things considering how the symbol is so tightly connected to war and war crimes, but it's good to educate yourself regardless.

So, we drafted out a rule we felt was as universal as possible, though of course it was just the first draft (Edit: again, Animal posted the doc with the rule suggestion so I'm also adding it here; there are a few other points as well), we knew it wasn't going to be perfect and were thinking we would likely have to adjust it. No problem there, because nothing is perfect on the first try. Unfortunately we were met with a negative reception, and after little discussion the suggestion was shut down, as the champs felt we were only pushing the rule to ban the Honedge design specifically, while we were hoping to ban symbols with significant negative connections altogether. The rising sun symbol, the swastika, the confederate flag, you get my point. If one of the latter two was to get in the group, I bet there'd be much more outcry since those symbols are much better known in the west, but that doesn't mean we should ignore other countries/continents and their culture either, right?

Everything, by this point, had taken well over a week, maybe two? We were very tired, and I for one felt there was no fight left in me to keep going after our suggestion was declined. I could tell my four peers were exhausted as well. I can't speak for them, but me? This issue never left my mind once ever since we started discussing it. I get extremely anxious and that's 100% on me of course, but I couldn't help it and so, by the time our suggestion was shut down, I was pretty much done, as I had not been able to sleep well for a week or two. I'm still kinda struggling to get a good night's sleep because of all the stuff that happened, and because I feel bad for what transpired after.

All five of us resigned at the same time. It was not a decision made in that moment though; I knew right from when I started pushing this change for the first time, that if the rule was to stay the way it was, I would not be able to keep working as a mod for Nation in good conscience. From what I've heard from my friends, they came to that conclusion on their own during the week we were working on drafting our rule suggestion. We did talk about it beforehand, like I said it was not a decision made in the heat of the moment. We had already made up our minds before going in to the conversation that night. We just didn't feel it would fair to bring it up, like "change this or we will leave!" so we left that out completely. If there was going to be a change, we wanted it to be voluntary. Maybe the champs were open to discuss further but the way our suggestion was shut down, to me it did seem like they were very set on keeping the current rule, and ours was perceived to be vastly inferior despite it being our first attempt. Very disheartening.

Of course, I'm not super happy with how sudden our leave had to be, either; in fact if you know me at all, you know I've been a mess over this, and still am. It's not easy letting go of something you really loved for years. But sometimes you gotta follow your personal morals and values; that's what I did and that's why I don't regret my decision no matter how much it hurts now.

After three years of doing mod work for PKMNation, I'm back to being a regular member. I absolutely adore the community and wish to keep participating with all the friends I've made during the five long years I've been in this group altogether. Thank you everyone who supported me in my time as a mod. Even though I decided now's the time to let go, I'm still glad I was able to help run the group for so long; a lot of good memories were made and those will never go away. To everyone who has come to know me through PKMNation, I hope your memories of me are mainly positive as well.
